Exterior House Painting
Our exterior jobs start with a full pressure wash, then the crew scrapes loose paint, caulks open joints and primes bare wood. Finish coats go on siding, trim, fascia, doors and window frames.
Service area · Keller, TX

Our exterior jobs start with a full pressure wash, then the crew scrapes loose paint, caulks open joints and primes bare wood. Finish coats go on siding, trim, fascia, doors and window frames.

A fence takes full sun and sprinkler water every day, so it grays out fast. We clean the boards, fix loose pickets where needed and prime before we paint or stain.

DFW decks bake in the summer and dry out between rains. We pressure wash the boards, let them dry, then paint, stain or seal the deck along with the rails and spindles.

A full exterior wash takes dirt, cobwebs, mildew and algae off siding, brick, trim and concrete. We set the pressure and cleaner for each surface.

We paint walls, ceilings, trim and doors in occupied homes, one area at a time. The crew covers floors and furniture, patches and primes, and cleans up at the end of each day.

If the cabinet boxes are solid, paint costs far less than new cabinets. We clean and degrease, sand, prime and finish with cabinet-grade paint that stands up to moisture and daily use.
Local housing
Keller began as a railroad town on the Texas & Pacific line and was named for a railroad official. The name was in use by 1882, and the post office opened in 1888. The city sits in the Eastern Cross Timbers, a band of oak woodland, and many lots still have those trees.
Most of Keller's houses are newer than the town. Population was 1,474 in 1970, 13,683 in 1990 and 27,345 in 2000 (Texas State Historical Association), so most homes date from the last few decades.
Old Town Keller is different. The zoning documents there list American Foursquare, Craftsman, Bungalow, Minimal Traditional and Ranch houses, from the early homes through 1970s infill. Those have more exposed wood and older paint layers. Homes built before 1978 may contain lead paint.
Approvals and permits
Old Town Keller. The Old Town zoning district has design review for new construction, major remodeling and certain additions. We haven't confirmed whether a color change alone triggers review, so check with Keller Planning before you change exterior colors there.
HOA neighborhoods. Elsewhere in Keller, if your subdivision has an HOA that approves colors, submit chips and get written approval before work starts.
Heat, hail and timing
Oak shade is the main issue on Keller exteriors. Shaded siding and trim stay damp longer, grow mildew, and pick up stains from leaves, acorns and sap. A thorough power wash and full dry time come before any paint.
Hail is the other issue. NOAA-based counts put Tarrant County at roughly 7.8 hail days a year from 2010 to 2025, with April the peak month. Let the roofers and siding crews finish first, then paint.
Summers bring long stretches at 100°F or more (DFW averages 20 such days a year). We follow each product's data sheet for heat and dew point limits.
Our process
We look at the house, note repairs, and give you a written estimate.
Our in-house color consultant helps you narrow choices. We don't file HOA or historic-district color paperwork, but we help you pick colors from the approved palettes. In Old Town Keller, ask Planning about color changes. In an HOA, get written approval. We set the start date after that.
Wash, scrape, repair wood, prime bare spots and caulk. Homes built before 1978 get lead-safe work practices.
A project manager runs the crew and keeps you posted.
We walk the job with you and fix anything you point out before we call it done.

Questions, answered
Design review in Old Town Keller covers new construction, major remodels and certain additions. Ask Keller Planning whether a color change alone needs review.
Shade slows drying and invites mildew, and leaves, acorns and sap stain the surface. We wash first, let it dry fully and then paint.
Stain is easier to keep up on a shaded wood fence because it wears away instead of peeling. Paint covers old stains and gives a solid color but needs more prep at each recoat.
After the roof and siding repairs are finished. Painting first usually means paying for touch-ups.
Earthy body colors with a contrasting trim and a distinct door or porch color usually suit these styles. Bring photos of houses you like and we can narrow it down.
